Key to translation sentences

Here we are again! 

Yesterday we watched a video (in Spanish) about an athlete called Desireé and, after that, I dictated some sentences to translate in relation to the grammar and vocabulary of the unit. Here's my proposal.


Translate

1. Desirée podría haberse rendido, pero sobrellevó la lesión y continuó entrenando.

Desirée could have given up, but she coped with the injury and kept on training.

2. Los médicos tienen un trabajo importante: debieron haber desempeñado un papel más profesional.

Doctors have an important job: they must have played a more professional role.

3. Las personas con discapacidades deberían tener más visibilidad y accesibilidad.

People with disabilities should have more visibility and accessibility.

4. Desirée no tenía por qué haber personalizado la prótesis, pero quedaba más bonita.

Desirée needn’t have customized the prosthesis, but it looked prettier.

5. Desirée hubiese continuado entrenando gimnasia acrobática si no fuese por la lesión.

Desirée would have continued training acrobatic gymnastics if it weren’t for the injury.

6. Cuando vi la noticia sobre la lesión de Desiree, yo dije: eso no puede haber pasado.

When I saw the news about Desirée’s injury, I said: that can’t /couldn’t have happened.

7. Las historias de deportistas como Desirée puede que hayan inspirado a otras personas.

The stories of athletes like Desirée may have inspired others.
